"The Original Mustangs" Linda Cook : Lead Vocals & Keyboard "Lyn Baxter", popular vocalist of the 60's and regular performer at many of Melbourne's top venues at that time, including Springvale Town Hall, the Peppermint Lounge in Box Hill, etc. is back as Linda Cook with her band "The Original Mustangs" and they are rockin' up a storm playing 50's & 60's Rock 'n' Roll and Rhythm and Blues with soul, just as it was played in the 50's & 60's. Linda has revived many of the songs that brought her popularity in the 60's by artists such as Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Wanda Jackson and Ruth Brown, etc., as well as performing her renditions of classics by Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Little Richard and many of the other great male artists that brought Rock 'n' Roll to the forefront of the music scene in the 50's. . . Lindsay Cook : Lead Guitar, Keyboards & Vocals![]() Jason Semple : Tenor Saxophone ![]() Jason is a highly experienced and well respected member of the musical fraternity with a fine pedigree, being the son of one of Melbourne's most renowned sax players, the late Ken Semple, a member of iconic band "The Premiers". Jason has worked with many of Melbourne's top bands including Soultribe, the Joe Galea Band, Honey B & The Stingers and many more. Jason a is a great exponent of sax playing in the style of the legends that played on so many of the classic Rock 'N' Roll and R&B hits of the 50's and 60's, such as Boots Randolph, Plas Johnson and King Curtis. . Mike Beaver - Rhythm Guitar ![]() Another of the original members of "The Mustangs", Mike came out of musical retirement to become a part of “The Original Mustangs” As well as being an extremely capable rhythm guitarist, Mike provides a great second and third harmony when backing-up Linda or Lindsay.
