Linda Cook : Lead Vocals & Keyboard

"Lyn Baxter", popular vocalist of the 60's and regular performer at many of Melbourne's top venues at that time, including Springvale Town Hall, the Peppermint Lounge in Box Hill, etc. is back as Linda Cook with her band "The Original Mustangs" and they are rockin' up a storm playing 50's & 60's Rock 'n' Roll and Rhythm and Blues with soul,  just as it was played in the 50's & 60's. Linda has revived many of the songs that brought her popularity in the 60's by artists such as Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Wanda Jackson and Ruth Brown, etc., as well as performing her renditions of classics by Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Little Richard and many of the other great male artists that brought Rock 'n' Roll to the forefront of the music scene in the 50's.

   Lindsay Cook : Lead Guitar, Keyboards & Vocals

A founding member of "The Mustangs", one of Melbourne's leading groups of the 60's, Lindsay has been lead guitarist with many bands during his 55 year musical career, including “Phase 4”, one of Melbourne's most popular and successful pub bands of the early 70's, with which he worked six and seven nights a week as a full-time professional musician at the top hotels of the time such as the Burvale, Manhattan and Sentimental Bloke, etc., on many occasions supporting top local and overseas performers. With "The Original Mustangs" Lindsay features on guitar, keyboards, including Hammond organ and vocals



   Jason Semple : Tenor Saxophone
                                           
Jason is a highly experienced and well respected member of the musical fraternity with a fine pedigree, being the son of one of Melbourne's most renowned sax players, the late Ken Semple, a member of iconic band "The Premiers". Jason has worked with many of Melbourne's top bands including Soultribe, the Joe Galea Band, Honey B & The Stingers  and many more. Jason a is a great exponent of sax playing in the style of the legends that played on so many of the classic Rock 'N' Roll and R&B hits of the 50's and 60's, such as Boots Randolph, Plas Johnson and  King Curtis.

Mike Beaver - Rhythm Guitar




Another of the original members of "The Mustangs", Mike came out of musical retirement to become a part of “The Original Mustangs” As well as being an extremely capable rhythm guitarist, Mike provides a great second and third harmony when backing-up Linda or Lindsay.






    Neil Onans - Bass Guitar 
     
First played bass with Lindsay in the mid-seventies in the band “Renaissance”. Neil has played with many other of Melbourne's top groups over the years including "Concept" and more recently the Doobie Bros Tribute Band "Blackwater", before joining “The Original Mustangs”. Neil is equally at home playing R&B, Rock, Soul, Funk, Blues, Jazz or Country. He was a classic exponent of "slapping and popping" style bass guitar during the funk and disco years, but these days sticks to a more refined playing style in keeping with the authentic feel of 50's & 60's Rock 'N' Roll and R&B. 



   Frank Burns - Drums

Frank is another of Melbourne's most highly respected and sought after musicians. He was an original member of the coveted "Fendermen" band, one of Melbourne's most demanded groups over a long period, with a recent 55-year reunion concert drawing a sell-out crowd. Over the period of his musical career Frank has backed many top local and overseas artists and worked with most of the elite musicians and bands around Melbourne. He is a true pro musician when it comes to drumming who can not only emulate the playing styles of some of the finest of drummers from around the world, but read music fluently as few others are able to claim.
